The Volkswagen Golf Mk6 (or VW Typ 5K) is the successor to the Mk5, and was unveiled at the Paris Auto Show in October 2008. It was offered as: 3-door hatchback, 5-door hatchback, 5-door estate/wagon and a 2 door cabriolet.

If installing it to a vehicle with a factory amplifier under the passenger seat it is best to check the brand first before purchasing a control harness. This is done by removing the 2 x 10mm bolts and sliding the amp forward. If it is a Panasonic branded amplifier the CHVW7C (or install kit) will be sufficient to switch the amp on. If it is a Blaupunkt amplifier it will require the CAVW01 to be able to access the amps volume controls.
